Sample Scenarios
Here are some scenarios to consider when choosing how to share access.
- Here are some things to consider
- How long will this person need access to this door?
- What level of access do they need?
- Will you be near the lock?
You are a homeowner and have family members.
- In this case, family members will most likely need long-term access to the door. They will also probably need a higher level of access to allow them to create their own passcodes and other forms of access.
- We recommend making them admins since they will be using this door over a long period of time.
You own a rental property and want to share access with the tenant.
- In this case, a long-term tenant may need a higher level of access.
- If you want the tenant to manage their own door, you can make them an admin or they can create their own codes and other forms of access as needed.
- You can also give the tenants passcodes or fobs to enter and exit.
You run a short-term rental/Airbnb/VRBO and want your guests to have access.
- In this case, a short-term guest needs a low level of access.
- You can generate a passcode for the guest to use during their stay.
You have an office and multiple employees that need access.
- In this case, employees depending on their role may need a low, moderate, or high level of access.
- Since the employees will be using the lock often, we recommend an eKey or a fob for quick access to enter and exit.
You need to let temporary workers in such as construction workers or plumbers.
- In this case, these individuals will need a low level of access.
- You can generate a code for them that will stop working after their job is done.
